People Insights is the analytics layer of Popwork. It combines what your teams share in their check-ins and 1:1s with your organisational data, so that HR and leadership can see how the company is doing — month after month — and act on it.
People Insights is currently in beta. The features described below are available to a limited number of customers and will continue to evolve based on your feedback.
Who can access People Insights
If your company has activated the People Insights beta, then People Insights is available to all users with an Admin status. To open it, click on Company > People Insights.
Individual managers do not see People Insights. They continue to follow their own team through their check-ins, 1:1s and team indicators.
What data People Insights uses
People Insights brings together three sources:
Popwork data: mood, workload, and the topics that come up most often in check-ins and 1:1s
Your HR data: organisational structure, divisions, departments and teams, synced from your HRIS
Usage attributes: team size, check-in frequency and regularity, and other context that helps you read the numbers correctly
Crossing these three sources is what turns raw answers into something you can act on: not just "mood is down", but "mood is down in this department, on teams of this size, where check-ins have become irregular".
The monthly executive report
The beta ships with a ready-made monthly report designed for leadership committees and HR reviews. You do not need to build anything to use it — it is generated automatically at the end of each period.
It contains:
Period summary: a written summary of the period, generated by AI from the answers collected over the month
Mood: how mood evolved across the company and per entity
Workload: how workload evolved across the company and per entity
Areas to watch: the teams or departments where the signals suggest a closer look is needed
Words of the period: the themes and expressions that came up most often in check-ins and 1:1s
Mood heatmap: mood by division or department, month by month, so you can spot a trend before it becomes a problem
Build your own dashboards
Beyond the monthly report, People Insights lets admins build their own views with the dashboard builder.
Click on New dashboard and give it a name.
Add widgets with the widget builder: choose the indicator (mood, workload, participation, themes…), the population it applies to, and the time period.
Arrange the widgets, then save.
Because each dashboard is built independently, you can create one view per audience — for example:
an executive dashboard with company-level trends and a small number of headline indicators
a CHRO dashboard with the full picture across divisions, including participation and adoption
an HRBP dashboard focused on the specific scope each business partner supports
Anonymity and data protection
People insights is designed to give HR and leadership a reliable picture without exposing anyone individually.
Results are aggregated, never shown per person.
An anonymity threshold applies: no data is displayed for a group below a minimum number of respondents. The default anonymity threshold is set to 3 but can be customized by your Account Manager.
Managers keep access to their own team's conversations in Popwork, as they do today. People insights does not change what a manager can or cannot see.
What to expect during the beta
Indicators, widgets and report sections may change from one release to the next.
Some data requires a few months of check-ins before trends become meaningful. If your company has recently started with Popwork, expect the heatmap and period comparisons to become useful after a few cycles.
Your feedback directly shapes what ships next.
