Send a Bravo or share feedback

Popwork gives you three simple ways to recognise someone's work

Popwork gives you three simple ways to recognise someone's work or open a conversation, right from the web app.

  • Bravo : a thank-you card with stickers, for any colleague on the account. Their manager sees it too.

  • Feedback : congratulations, encouragement or a suggestion, between you and the person only.

  • Feedback request: a specific question you ask your manager, who answers with a feedback.

Who can do what

  • Managers can share feedback with the people they manage, and send Bravos to any colleague.

  • Employees can send Bravos to any colleague.

  • Anyone who has a manager can ask them for feedback.

  • Observers of a workspace don't get the + Create menu there.

Admins can turn each of these on or off for the whole account (see For admins below).

Where to start

Click + Create in two places:

  • in the header of a person's workspace, where the Bravo or feedback is already addressed to them;

  • on the Feedbacks tab of your home, where you choose the recipient first.

Two shortcuts also appear along the way:

  • a Bravo button under someone's check-in answers;

  • when a commitment is marked done, a prompt suggests congratulating the person who kept it.

Send a Bravo

  1. Click + Create, then Send a Bravo.

  2. Choose who it's for. Search by name, first name or team, or pick from Recent and Everyone. You can choose several people: each one receives their own Bravo.

  3. Write your message in Your Bravo. You can also pick the colour of the card.

  4. Add up to 3 stickers from the tray (tabs All, Pop and Words). Drop one on the card, then click it to move it, resize it or turn it. Use the cross to remove it.

  5. Click Send the Bravo.

Quote an answer. When you start from someone's check-in answer or commitment, your Bravo can quote it, so it's clear what you are thanking them for. The quote is removed when you write to several people at once.

Who sees it. The people you send it to receive it by email and in the app. Their manager sees it too. You find it again in your Sent list.

Share feedback

  1. Click + Create, then Share feedback.

  2. Choose the person (or several: each gets their own feedback).

  3. Choose the type: congratulations, encouragement or a suggestion.

  4. Write your message, then click Share the feedback.

A feedback stays between you and the person. Only one feedback can be shared on a given check-in.

Ask your manager for feedback

  1. Click + Create, then Ask for feedback.

  2. Write your question, then click Send the request.

You can have one pending request with the same person at a time. You can ask again once they have answered.

If you receive a request: it appears under To handle in your Feedbacks tab, and in the workspace timeline. Click Answer, write your reply and send it. The question stays displayed next to your answer, and the reply stays between the two of you.

Receive a Bravo or a feedback

You are notified by email and in the app. The link opens the Bravo on its card, with your latest Bravos received. As the person it was sent to, you can react to it.

If it's a Bravo, you can answer in kind: the Write a Bravo link under the card takes you straight to the composer.

Find everything in the Feedbacks tab

The Feedbacks tab is on your home and in each workspace. The home tab shows a count of unread feedback and of requests waiting for your answer.

  • Received / Sent. Switch between the two. In a workspace, you can also see All the feedback exchanged with that person.

  • Filter by type: Bravos, congratulations, encouragement, suggestions.

  • To handle: requests you still have to answer, at the top.

  • Bravos as cards, other feedback as compact rows. Click Show more to load older ones.

In a workspace, feedback and pending requests also appear in the timeline, by date, among the check-ins. A check-in that has a feedback carries a small tag.

For admins: turn features on or off

Go to the Permissions & visibility page and open the Feedback group.

Three switches are available:

  • Share feedback with their team members (managers)

  • Send Bravos to their colleagues: applies to everyone, managers included

  • Ask their manager for feedback (employees)

All three are on by default. When one is turned off, the matching option disappears from the + Create menu, and anyone who still tries gets the message "Your organization has turned off this feature." Answering a request that was already sent remains possible.
